ASK ABOUT 5% TINT ↗Good to know: VLT means visible light transmission. Lower percentages mean less light passes through the film. These pictures are examples, not controlled side-by-side comparisons: the final appearance varies with factory glass, film, camera exposure and lighting. The finished glass VLT can differ from the film rating. Windscreen and front-window tinting must comply with applicable Maltese rules; we'll help confirm suitable options.
Under Regulation 110A of Malta’s Motor Vehicles Regulations (S.L. 65.11), minimum visible light transmission (VLT) requirements for passenger-car side windows include:
| Window position | Minimum VLT |
|---|---|
| Front driver window | 70% |
| Front passenger window | 70% |
| Rear side windows | 30% |
Important: These figures are a general summary, not a guarantee that a particular film installation is road-legal. Factory glass and film VLT combine, and exemptions or type-approval requirements may apply. Confirm the current rules and the finished glass VLT before installation.
Ask us about your preferred shade and we'll discuss the options for your vehicle.
